Undergraduate students generally range in the 18-22 year-old age group. The University of Phoenix recognized that there were working adult students that wanted to complete their schooling, but were unable to attend classes on a traditional campus. Dr. John Sperling founded the University of Phoenix in 1976 and it is now the largest private university in North America.

Dr. Sperling conducted research and found that adult students (ages 24 and older) were practically invisible to traditional campuses. Dr. Sperling then created his own college to serve these students and by 1989, the University expanded to online learning. The University of Phoenix now has over 200 campuses in 40 states, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Netherlands, and the District of Columbia. Students have the ability to attend online learning, or they can attend the traditional campuses that offer additional learning. The schools have tutoring centers and social centers that all students, online and traditional, can attend to help expand their education.

The University of Phoenix online is popular among working students and it is also one of the largest online accredited schools. The accreditation process is essential for students since it proves the legitimacy of their degree to employers. The school must meet certain criteria in regards to their resources, training, and teaching. Thanks for attempting to provide info on just how much this program adheres to standards. I had friends that attended the some of the Ivy League schools tell me how they could not keep up with the curriculum that U.O.P. requires online.

It's a pity that ONLY the students seem to know just how difficult and strenuous the requirements are for this program. Hopefully, thus hub will help the public understand a little better.
