I heard today that the case of Adam Walsh has been closed. A drifter who died in prison 12 years ago has been determined to be Adam's killer.

I am both sad and happy for John Walsh, Adam's dad. John is the head of America's Most Wanted. I have great respect for him and his mission.

The reason I am writing this hub is Jonathan; my 23 month old grandson who was killed June 23rd, 2007.

I have been thinking a lot about Jonathan lately. I still haven't heard anything from Laclede county prosecuter Angie Hemphill Wright.

Our case is a whole lot different than Adam's. You can take a look at the pictures at the right to get an idea of the loving boy we lost much to early in life. My heart aches daily. How long does it take to get the justice Jonathan deserves?

This 9 year old was fatally shot almost 4 years ago in a Washington D.C. neighborhood.

Donte and some other children were playing and it was somewhat late. A man pulled a handgun and started firing. There were many witnesses, but despite large rewards, no one has come forward.

Peggy Chappell was only 6 years old when she was raped, beaten and stabbed to death in Alabama in the year 1993. Her claims to know who abducted her child, and says the man had taken Peggy before but always brought her back safely. The mother refuse to identify the individual to authorities. $10,000 reward for information.

The last time Amber Hagerman's mom saw her alive was 8 minutes before a man called 911 to report seeing a man snatch the girl off her bike. Four days later, her body was found nude. Her throat had been slit. The abductor was a white or Hispanic man driving a dark truck. The crime happened in the Dallas area of Texas in the year 1996. The "Amber Alert" was started in memory of her to let the public know when a child is abducted.

13-year-old Cynteria Phillips was found nude on August 15, 2000. She was found behind Edison high school in Miami, Florida. Police believe the killer lived near the location in which she was found. Cynteria obviously put up a fight with her attacker, as her body was badly bruised. $115,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

I am barely putting a dent in the amount of unsolved child murders. What is wrong with these people. In many cases many of these killers were released from prison for other murders. Why do we let some of these people out of prison. Anyone who murders a child, in my opinion, should NEVER get a second chance.
