Sometimes we get gift cards and gift certificates to stores we don't like or we could use the money more then the gift card. There are lots of ways of solving the unwanted gift card problem.

If it's cash you really want then try selling it on craigslist, a work bulletin board, ebay or through a newspaper ad. You may not get the full amount it is worth or you may find someone who is willing to pay full price because they needed a gift card anyway. You can also see if any friends are willing to trade or buy your gift card.

There are also online websites were you can swap gift cards or sell them for money. Take the time to research many sites as you may get more value for your gift card at different sites. Most of them also charge a small fee so pick one that has the lowest fee as well. Make sure to carefully read the agreement you must agree to on each site as well!

Here is a list of some of your options:

1. www.swapagift.com- You can buy, sell or trade gift cards at this site. There is also an option to even pay bills (electric, phone etc) with the value of your gift card. You get up to 70% of the card balance if you want cash.

2. www.giftcardbuyback.com- This site offers cash for your gift card if the value is between $10-$300. This is one of the highest value paying sites if you want cash! You can donate your card to charity or buy cards as well.

3. http://unwantedgiftcard.com- You can buy, sell or donate gift cards at this site for a small fee.

4. www.cardavenue.com- Buy, sell or trade your unwanted gift cards for a small fee. There is also online card auctions.

5. www.plasticjungle.com- At this site you can buy, sell or trade cards. You can also get up to 65% of the value of your card if you trade it for "quik cash".

6. http://cash4giftcards.brinkster.net/-Will pay up to 75% of gift card value and can even sometimes offer 25% of an expired gift cards value. It takes about 3 weeks and a money order will be mailed to you.

If all else fails consider regifting the gift card or certificate. Be careful to check on the expiration dates! Good Luck!!!!
