My review on Up (4 Disc Combo Pack with Digital Copy and DVD)

” Let me just start by saying I enjoy almost every Pixar motion picture. When I discovered this was coming out I had to check it, and I rarely go to the theaters. I am glad I did and in 3-D. I smiled, laughed, and almost wept some tears for the old man. Nowadays that I amazed this on blu ray I have watched it twice!

I was not sure enough what to make of the preview, which featured this bad-tempered old man sitting on a porch of a floating house held aloft by thousands of balloons. The movie is so much more than that. It has rediscovering the adventure of life when you think there’s nothing left. The opening montage, which shows how two people meet, marries, and grows old together, is perfect. You understand how this old man is the way he is. The adventure begins when his home is threatened by urban development, and his ingenious and original way of dealing with it.

Up is such an impressive film. The film expertly balances comedic and tender moments. Some have found it too serious, but I think the two are blended perfectly to present us with an uplifting message on the power of people who love us in our lives.

By the way, this isn’t “a funny animated cartoon” but a suspenseful and sentimental adventure story, with a few laughs along the way. I’d believe adults would like this more than kids. Meanwhile, everybody – regardless – will have their jaw drop more than once – screening the incredible-looking scenes. At last, if you like extras take it easy and enjoy: there are tons of them in this four-disc set. Do get this Blu-Ray. You will not regret it! “
