What a Great President that man is going to make.

You know what? I started out hoping that Hillary Clinton was going to win the Presidency. Even after it was overwhelmingly clear that Obama would win the nomination, I still hoped for a miracle.

It wasn’t because I had anything against Obama. It was just that I knew nothing about him. Whereas I knew a whole lot about Clinton.

But since he was selected for the nomination and then gained the Presidency, I have, of course, learned a lot more about him. He is an honest, forthright and intelligent man. He has strong views which strike chords of recognition when compared to my views. He has set forth strategies in many different areas which are about the best that you can get from any politician. And I don’t mean that in a disparaging way.

He has been good for the American people and is now showing that he can be good for all the citizens of the world, too.

What he has achieved, from the start he had in life (not that he didn’t have a good upbringing, but it was not the silver-spooned start of some of America’s politicians) is little short of a miracle. But that is supposed to be the American dream, that anyone in America can become President. The highest office in the land and co-incidentally, the highest office in the world.

He has shown character, perseverance and a willingness to work harder than most people. For make no mistake, he has not had an easy ride. He has had to overcome hundreds, if not thousands, of obstacles. The battles he has had, not least with himself, would probably have made a lesser man give up at many points in his career.

The impact he has made on the world stage is nothing short of phenomenal. He has tackled some of the world’s most difficult problems head on and has brought a new understanding to them.

Now, of course, some people are sceptical. Why is it that there are always people who want the person in charge to fail? They will find any little fault, or usually an imagined fault, and try to blow it up out of all proportion. But they are mostly small-minded people who have never, ever achieved anything worthwhile in their own lives and are jealous of those who do succeed.

So how are Mr. Obama’s achievements going to help you to succeed?

Well here are the points from the new President’s story that you can take away to help you in your own quest for success:

(1) I stated above that I did not think Obama was the right person to be President because I knew nothing about him.

Unfortunately, this is how some people judge any opportunities that might come their way. They take a superficial look and decide on the basis of that rather inaccurate evidence. Just as I did with Mr. Obama!

What is to be learned here, then?

Always, and I mean ALWAYS, look in depth at any opportunity that comes your way which you feel might be of interest. You see, you never know which opportunity is going to be the one to make your fortune! When you study something carefully, you obviously get a better understanding of the subject and can make an informed decision.

(2) “He has shown character, perseverance and a willingness to work harder than most people”

Perseverance and Hard Work are the most important ideas to take from this sentence. They are essential to succeed at almost everything.

Some people believe the hype that surrounds many, so called opportunities that are advertised on the internet and elsewhere. Those that say that you can make a fortune by doing very little are mostly not worth the paper they are written on.

To be successful at anything, you must expect to work hard and to encounter obstacles. This takes us on to the next point.

(3) “He has had to overcome hundreds, if not thousands, of obstacles”.

The most important word here is ‘overcome’.

All successful people view obstacles as things that you are bound to come across and must be overcome somehow. It doesn’t actually matter HOW you overcome the obstacle as long as you do.

If there is a huge tree across your path, you only have four choices:

(1) You climb over it,

(2) You tunnel under it,

(3) You go round it, or

(4) You simply blast it out of your way.

The fifth choice, let the obstacle defeat you is not an option. You just cannot afford to let that obstacle stop you.

It’s the same when you’re building a business. Remember, you’re almost bound to come across an obstacle. It’s the way you get to the other side of the obstacle and continue to build your business that will determine how successful you’ll be.

(4) Finally, “Now, of course, some people are sceptical”.

You will nearly always find someone in your family or one of your friends who will say something like, ‘Oh, that’ll never work’ or ‘Don’t waste your money on that’.

If you have researched the opportunity carefully, you’ll know far more than they do. Don’t try to explain how good the opportunity is. They don't want to know. Just thank them for their opinion and continue on your way to making a fortune.
