Is A Used Paintball Gun Worth The Time To Investigate?

Paintball can get costly real fast considering you need to pay to play, pay for the paintballs, the paintball guns, and any other equipment like masks and gloves. One who is taking on this sport as a new endeavor might not want to keep renting guns every time they play because $20 bucks here and there adds up fast along with all the other equipment that is needed.

If you have played paintball and decide this is something you can see yourself doing a few times a month then getting your own paintball gun is a given. If this is nothing more than an exciting hobby to you than spending hundreds of dollars on a gun might throw you off from wanting to excel in it.

However, with the wonders of Craigslist, Ebay, pawn shops and other used sporting equipment stores you can find a gun that is not only fitting for your needs on the field but for your pocketbook as well. Of course, when purchasing anything used you want to be sure that the seller is reputable and is willing to talk with you should something go wrong with the product in question.

Due to there being so many outlets of used equipment being resold we can do some digging and find the best possible resolution for our shopping needs. If paintballing is something you enjoy doing but are not going to go over the edge with than all the special customizations and upgrades are really not necessary and you will be perfectly fine going with a name brand, best of the basics paintball gun.

One of the main things you want to take into account when looking for a used paintball gun is the amount of wear and tear on the inside of the gun where the paintballs are fired from. You should be able to estimate how much the gun has been used and fired from. If you find heavy scratches that are a result of the firing mechanism you will know that the gun has been used quite a bit. On the flipside, if you see very little scratches than you know this could be a good gun to purchase.

If you are looking to purchase a gun from the Internet on an auction site simply ask about the condition of the gun. Ask if it’s possible for them to take a closer picture if you are uncertain about the validity of the auction or you can always choose to avoid the seller all together.

No matter where or how you go about obtaining a used paintball gun make sure you know what you are looking for and what they are selling. Check the retail for a new gun and see how much of a deal you are getting.

More times than not when just a single shot has been fired it will drag the price of the gun down considerably and people will still be trying to sell it as close as they can to retail price. If this is the case it might just be better to buy a brand new gun from the paintball guns dungeon.
