DATABASE is one of those things which can get you thinking theoretically and I am going to define some of the important terms related to Databases in order to simplify the task:

1) DATABASE: It is a huge collection of things and the connections between those things permitting some of the data to be accessed by various programs. We can say that a database collects data!

2) DATA MODEL: It is a figure for a database. It represents the entities in a database and then attributes/information about those entities.

3) DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (DBMS): DBMS is basically a software which helps in locating data in a database, as well as adding and editing data.

4) DATA DICTIONARY: It is also known as data directory and is a file which comprises of information and structure of data.

5) FLAT FILE: It holds database in form of a table and keep it in just one file.

6) RELATIONAL DATABASE: It is a multifaceted database structure which consists of various kind of distinguished data.

7) SCHEMA: It shows the exact description of the data items which are kept in a database and also shows the links among the data in a database.

8) NORMAL FORM: It is a method of configuring the data used in relational database with respect to certain rules that helps in avoiding troubles.

9)DATA FILTER: It chooses the bunch of data which is needed for display.

10) DATA WAREHOUSE: This term talks about the big amount of data which is put together in one place for additional processing.
