We do laundry almost everyday and we use fabric softener sheet in our dryer for static control, softening our clothes, and smelling good. Besides this intended purpose, do you know that fabric softener can also be used for so many other things? Here are some unpopular tip uses for softener sheet.

  • Keep yellow jackets away by spreading shredded softener sheet around the area. For bee allergic people, keep a couple of sheets in your pocket.
  • Lay a sheet where the ants are and they will stay away.
  • Rub the fabric softener on your body to keep mosquitoes from sucking on you, or put one in your pocket, or tuck under your collar, or keep it inside your socks. Also, if you rub it on your screen doors, it will keep the mosquitoes away.
  • Spread them around the foundation of your house to repel mice.
  • Collect saw dust around your work shop like a cloth.
  • Collect cat hair like a magnet.
  • Rub it on your dog for a fresh smell, and keep flies away. When your dog is wet, use the sheet to rub him to remove his shedding hair.
  • Put a sheet in your baked-on pan, fill it with water, and let it sits over night. Your grill racks can be cleaned the same way.
  • Run a threaded needle through a sheet to prevent it from tangling.
  • Rub a sheet on your hair to keep it from "fly-away".
  • Re-use your sheet from the dryer for dust mopping.
  • Wipe the dull and tarnished brass with a softener sheet, and then use a soft cloth to rub it for a shine. This is great for car also.
  • If you have deodorant white stain on your clothes, use a sheet to rub it gently and it erases like magic.
  • Make your own air freshener spray by putting a few sheet in a spray bottle with warm water, let it stand in the heat on the window silk, shake well, and spray your house for a fresh smell.

These are just many uses for fabric softener. You can double your money by re-using them as potpourri, dusting, and cleaning around your home. We have heard of using them as air freshener in our daily life. Add these uses to what you've known, and you can save money on buying those chemical.
