Using Chitika and Google Adsense Together for Maximum Revenue
70First, I will give a brief explanation for people who did not hear about Chitika before. Chitika is one of the best paying PPC (Pay per click) advertising companies for bloggers and website owners. There are already more than 50,000 publishers in the system. Their in-text advertising and Mega Units are one of the best performers in this sector, especially high revenues with US traffic. If you didn't join Chitika before, first register as a publisher here and return back to read how you will optimize your pages.
Most people wrongly declare Chitika as an alternative to Google Adsense, and use either this or that. I think it is a wrong / missing statement. There is a way you can use Chitika and Google Adsense for the maximum revenue optimization. Such usage is allowed by Google Adsense as well.
An ideal page should look like this using both Google Adsense and Chitika Mega Units. I will explain the key points using this article screenshot taken from one of my popular gadget blogs.
As you can notice, there is only one Adsense block 250x250 embedded
right into the post. This is one of the most effective Adsense
placements. And notice that, we didn't place another Adsense block at
the end of the post.
Not many bloggers are aware but using many blocks
in Adsense will actually decrease your earning potential !
The reason is logical.
The first appearing Adsense blocks have highest paying advertisements. Suppose we had placed another adsense unit at the end. If a visitor don't click an advertisement in the first 250x250 box and read until the end of the post and click on it, your earnings will be possibly already too low. Instead of this, we want to optimize the bottom of the page with another high paying method.
Chitika MegaUnits are only shown to visitors from US and other a few developed countries including (Canada, UK etc.) automatically. The search results are contextual according to incoming search phrases. If the visitor is from another country, the ads box will not appear at all. If the visitor still don't click an advertisement (MegaUnits) , we have still chance to get a benefit. There is a social share button. Another option is an invitation to become RSS reader and finally related posts section.
Our aim is to keep the visitor on the site as long as we can so that he/she will eventually click an high paying advertisement before leaving.
This is the schema I prefer to use all in my blog network and quite happy with the results. I hope it helps and gives an idea for your advertisement placements.
