Using Self Defense Products

When using self defense products, there are a couple of things you need to know.  You cannot just purchase something, and then expect to be able to use it in an emergency with perfect form.  You need to read about whatever you plan on carrying, and try to practice with it a little.  Self-defense products are made to be easy to use, so it does not take that much practice to get it down.

You should get a self-defense product that you feel comfortable with.  Don't just get something because it is the cheapest or for some other similar factor.  In a dangerous situation, you want your weapon to be like a part of your body, and that means having a connection with that item.

The Taser X3

The following product is not something that you would ever use for personal self-defense, but I think that it is pretty cool.  The product is the Taser X3, which has one major difference from other tasers.  With a regular rifle taser, you can only fire once before needing to retract and charge the shot again.  The Taser X3 can fire three times, so if there are a lot of people coming up on you, you can take them all down.

This particular product is good for police and security at nightclubs.  In fact, I first heard about this product on The Colbert Report, talking about an incident at a nightclub.  There were two celebrities, I can't remember which, and they were both fighting, and one of them got tasered.  There was some controversy over which celebrity was chosen to be tased, but the bouncer would have preferably wanted to tase both, but with the existing technology, it was impossible.  With the Taser X3, now it is possible!
