A vacuum canister is a type of vacuum which has a canister that holds a filter which extracts dust and other materials from the air streaming into the vacuum. A vacuum canister is popular because it's a convenient size to tuck into a closet or under a bed, and it provides the power and convenience necessary to quickly and easily clean and vacuum your house. A vacuum canister works by generating a powerful suction with an electric fan that pulls air, dust and other objects in through the vacuum tube. This air is pulled through a paper or cloth filter which extracts any dust and debris that may be present. This dust stays in the canister or bag for later removal. The air then flows out of the vacuum. A vacuum can lose suction and not work as well when the filter is clogged with dust and impairs the ability of the air to quickly flow through it.

After emptying your vacuum canister, you'll be surprised at how much better the vacuum works because the suction is no longer impaired by the filter being full of dust and dirt.

You can find a range of vacuum canisters online. A small battery powered one may be sufficient for a studio apartment, while you may want a large and more powerful vacuum canister with wheels if you have a large house to keep free of dust.
