A great Valentine's Day date with your significant other doesn't have to mean shelling out lots of cash for a nice evening.  From dinner to gifts one can end up spending lots of dough, but who has all that extra cash these days?  With these Valentine's Day date ideas you can have a romantic, fun, and creative date without spending any money.

  • Breakfast in bed - Valentine's Day is on a Saturday this year, so its the perfect opportunity to spend the whole day together.  Begin the day by making your favorite breakfast and then hopping back in bed and enjoying it with your companion.  Talk about the day ahead, or watch your favorite morning TV show.
  • Shower/bathe together - Wake up your day, or end your night with a relaxing, romantic soak with your sweetie.  You wash my back, I'll wash yours, right?  Light candles to set the mood, and play music to create a relaxing atmosphere.  The rest is up to you. ;)
  • Take a drive or go for a walk - However you decide to travel, go out and explore your local area.  Take your camera along with you so that you can document your day.  Upload the photos when you get home and reminisce about your day.  You will be reminded of how much you enjoy each other's company.
  • Cash in your love coupons - Love coupons can be printed online or you can make your own.  These coupons can be cashed in for kisses, hugs, cuddle time or for other *cough* tokens of affection.  Cash in these coupons to spice up your Valentine's Day.
  • Cook dinner together - Explore your pantry, cupboards, fridge and freezer to come up with an exciting and romantic dinner that you both can make and enjoy together.  You can research and download recipes online, or create a new concoction of your own.  Don't forget dessert!
  • Create your own massage parlor - Finally use those oils and/or lotions that you have hidden in your sock drawer or deep within your medicine cabinet.  Work out the week's stresses, and work on the romance.  Don't be stingy with the amount of massage time either.
  • Write each other letters - Forgo those expensive greeting cards and express your love in a more personal way.  Write each other letters expressing your love for one another, and read them aloud.  Keep a box of tissues handy in case someone gets emotional. :)

Love the ideas! Valentines doesn't have to cost a fortune, and usually, the more creative you get, the funner and more romantic it is. :)

The weekend before valentines day my girlfriend and I always go shopping for each others gifts, the catch is we have only 2 GBP's each to buy a present, then on valentines day morning we open them as if it were christmas :D
