Vampires: Gaze into the Mirror

I have a personal interest: vampires. Yes, vampires. Or, to be more precise, the Anglo-Saxon fixation on vampires. I'm not interested in the gore that can range from "leave it to the consumer's imagination" to "blood, guts and nothing else." I'm intriqued by the symbolism of it and the way each writer/filmmaker structures a world in which vampires exist. In other words, what does it tell us about us? Are we the reflection in the vampire's mirror?

From Dracula (the original novel) to Kolchak, Buffy and Blade, there's an immense body of work to explore and I'm going to start doing it. Hopefully, i can make it an interesting adventure in pop and personal psychology that we can all have fun with. I hope you'll join me!
