The success of the thriller movie, "Twilight" doesn't suprise me. And now with HBO's addition of their new series True Blood, which I love. Seems the vampire is making a comeback. I have always loved horror films, with vampire films being my favorite.

I have seen many vampire movies from the really good to the really bad. From Dusk To Dawn, and all the Underworld series and Blade series.

Interview With The Vampire, starring Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise had the best looking vampires. Salems Lot had Stephen Kings version of what it is to be a vampire. 30 Days Of Night was the most gruesome I've seen in awhile.

But my all time favorite is 1987's "The Lost Boys".

The Lost Boys is about two brothers Michael and Sam who move with their mother to live with the boys grandfather in Santa Carla, California, the murder capital of the world. So Michael and Sam befriend two brothers, Edgar and Alan who just happen to favor themselves as vampire hunters. There Michael runs into David the leader of a gang of tough kids who hang out at the beach and the boardwalk getting in trouble and terrorizing the town. And it is at this time that Michael drinks some of Davids blood thinking it is wind.

And while all this is going on their mother starts a new job at the video store owned by a man named Max. The mother starts dating Max and things seem fine for a while.

But a short time later Michael starts to feel a little wierd he is sensitive to sound, has no reflection, and he can fly. This has Sam along with the Frog brothers thinking Michael is a vampire. So the Frog brothers tell Sam they have to drive a stake through Michaels heart and kill him or kill the head vampire since Michael may only be half vampire and this will return Michael to normal.

And they all inluding Michael set out to kill David. In their first attempt they kill only one vampire and it isn't David. They fail miserably and after waking the sleeping vampires the gang of boys have to flee to the safety of daylight.

So a little wiser this time they fill up water pistols with holy water, fill a bathtub with garlic, and make wooden stakes all before night falls. When David and his gang of young vampires come to Sams house, the boys manage to kill one vampire by electrocution, another vampire is killed by the family dog when he knocks on vampire in the tub of garlic. Later Michael kills David by impaling him on some antliers.

after all this they wait for Michael to go back to being human, since they killed the head vampire... but David wasn't the head vampire.

Later on in the evening Lucy comes home with Max, and when Max sees all the dead vampires he is very upset. It seems the boys have killed his "Children". Just then as Max takes Sam and threatens to kill him, the Grandfather comes in with his wooden stake, saves the day by killing Max the head vampire.
