This is the first in a series of articles on the current Presidential administration’s so called policy czars or special advisors who are currently advising the president on various sectors of the economy. There are reports that these new department heads will be taking over to implement policy that will have a sweeping effect on the way our country functions. 

President Obama never made a secret of the fact that he intends to implement fundamental changes to the infrastructure of this country. This is the means he has chosen to reach the masses and launch these fundamental changes.  These advisers have not been appointed by Congress. There will be no oversight other than the White House. Van Jones has a colorful history as an avowed Communist and radical.

His speech to PowerShift09 reveals Van Jones’ deep radical roots. While green energy could benefit this country, Mr. Jones assertion that illegal aliens, otherwise called farm workers or sisters and brothers who had poison sprayed on them. He believes that this country owes reparation to his Native American brothers and sisters as well as some others he believe are victims.

Mr. Jones as recently as one month before his appointment called Republicans A## holes and was forced to publicly apologize today. As more is known about Van Jones it is generally expected that he will lose his position within the upcoming days or weeks.

Most Americans are like me and rather trusting that the elected officials will be more or less honest within our Constitutional guidelines. Mr. Jones has expressed views that I would never have believed possible in a member of the government just a few years ago. Some in the media find it acceptable that an avowed communist be allowed to work on the president’s staff.  Today Charles Krauthammer speaking on Special Report on Fox News said that he did not object to a communist on the President’s staff, that the fall of communism made people who claim to be communists anachronisms.

I usually agree with Mr. Krauthammer but, as a conservative I believe that he needs to get outside the Beltway and talk to real Americans. I do not believe that having a person who at any time in his or her life claimed to be a communist should advise the president on anything. There was a time in this country that such a thing would never have happened. This is troubling, but I believe that the Giant is awake now and will be watching.
