Vcast Rhapsody Review - My Personal Experience

For me, Vcast Rhapsody has been the best thing to come along in a long time, when it comes to playing music on my phone.

I bought a new LG Dare a few months ago and the first thing I did was to add a 2 GB Micro SD Card to the phone. After I used the Verizon Wireless CD to install the software for my new phone onto my PC, I fired up Rhapsody and connected my phone to my computer with the supplied USB cable.

The easy part was adding a few hundred songs to my phone with Rhapsody. It was as easy as “drag & drop”. Seriously! All I had to do was find the songs that I wanted in my Rhapsody library and drag them over to the phone icon in Rhapsody. In a matter of a few minutes, the songs had been copied over to my phone and I was ready to unplug and take it with me.

The cool part about the whole Vcast Rhapsody thing is that I can play songs on my phone that I don’t even own, all 100% legally. Rhapsody makes this possible with the $14.99 monthly subscription fee. All I have to do is pay once per month. The music that I can download to my phone is limited only by the size of the memory card in my phone.

Vcast Rhapsody also allows me to download songs over the air, right to my phone, but I’d rather just transfer them from my computer. The reason I prefer this is because songs downloaded over the air to my phone have to be paid for individually. Songs copied over from my computer don’t cost any extra.

Because I always have my phone with me, I also always have my music with me.

The only peculiarity that I have found about the whole Vcast Rhapsody setup is that I had to make sure I installed the Verizon Vcast Music Manager software for my computer to recognize my phone when I connect it, even though I had already installed the drivers for the phone. This isn’t a big deal, but it’s something that I wanted to mention, to make it easier for anyone who reads this review.

Overall, the whole thing is pretty effortless and it works well.

I remember when I first signed up for my free trial. I think it only took me a few hours to decide that I would continue on as a subscriber.

So if I had to give Vcast Rhapsody a rating, based on how easy it is to use, how much I like it and how big the music selection is, using a 5 star system, it would be somewhere in the 4.8 stars range. Yes... I like it that much.

I hope this helps you make a decision too.
