iPhone coming to Verizon?
62The iPhone
I've been a loyal Verizon Wireless customer for over 6 years now. I've had Sprint and ATT in the past and by far, Verizon has the most complete coverage in the US Northeast. Their EVDO network is incredibly fast, and personally I believe is far superior to the 3G networked offered by AT&T.
Putting Service aside, AT&T has the best selections in mobile phones. Verizon always seems to cripple their phones with their lame and growing increasingly older by the day operating system. In their defense, it does make technical service easier, since every phone has the same menu system, but is it really in the consumers best interest too? I think not. Consumers want choices, and each consumer comes with a different unique personality.
When the iPhone was launched, my mouth dropped when I heard that Verizon snubbed the deal and it fell into AT&T hands. Knowing that AT&T has exclusive rights to what I believe, is the most advanced smartphone on the market blows my mind away. How could Verizon let this happen? They tried to counter with the world's first touchscreen blackberry, the Blackberry Storm, but the Storm was a failure in every way. The screen was horrible. The responsiveness was very slow and overall user intuitiveness just wasn't there. I just kept finding myself comparing it to the iPhone.
Now that we are nearing 2010, when AT&T's exclusive rights on the iPhone end, will Verizon make the right decision and bring it to their market? I sure hope so. Besides myself, I know 10 other people who would drop their current phone for an iPhone on Verizon, some would even pay the early upgrade fee!!
So whether its the iPhone 4g, or the iPhone LTE, please Verizon listen to what your customers want. Deliver us a great phone!
