Review of Veterinary Secrets Revealed

Veterinary Secrets Revealed was written by Dr. Andrew Jones, DVM - The Internet Pet Vet. The book is divided into two main sections.

Section I: Treatment Guidelines and Techniques tells the reader how to use the book. The topics include "Why Your Pet Gets Sick," "How to Care for a Sick Animal," "The At-Home Pet Health Exam and Worksheet" and the "Pet First Aid Kit."

Section II: Illnesses and Remedies make up the majority of the book. The list of illnesses is also displayed as a helpful side bar. This along with the index at the end are what you need to scan when looking for information about a specific illness, symptom or treatment.

It begins with a description of how to use the book. Then there is a worksheet that you use as a guide for doing your own examinations of your pet. You are supposed to record your findings and then make a list of possible diseases. When you have narrowed down the possibilities, find the name of the disease in the index and read the specific section. Each section lists several treatments. When you have decided on a course of action you will start the treatment and keep track of the results in the work book.

Each chapter covers a specific illness or problem and often shows an example photograph, drawing, or X-Ray, This is very useful for spotting problems in your own pet.

The book also talks about the use of healing magnets, herbal and homeopathic remedies. Lots of articles mention herbs that are good for certain ailments. It can become overwhelming to read through all of the information out there. But this book is especially helpful because it says how much to use of each herb and gives specific instructions. There are also recipes to treat ailments including, cancer, arthritis, allergies and others.

Some chapters have information that is repeated in other areas. But it makes sense because the ailments are related. For example, some of the remedies suggested for arthritis also apply to hip dysplasia.

One problem I have with ebooks is that I don't like reading a lot of text on my computer screen. Fortunately, Veterinary Secrets Revealed also comes in an mp3 audio version. My suggestion is to listen to the whole audio book, and then keep the ebook as a reference guide and worksheet. The complete home study course also comes with audio cds and a printed version of the book.

Veterinary Secrets Revealed also has information about cats. If you own a cat, this is an added bonus. If not, these sections don't really get in the way.

This ebook is a great reference for dog owners who want to take an active role in their pet's recovery. It covers many health issues, from common to obscure. It lets dog lovers know when home remedies are appropriate and when to go to the Vet. This book will help you make informed decisions about your pet's wellbeing and communicate better with your veterinarian. It isn't a replacement for professional care but it is a powerful tool that serious dog lovers should have.

One of the most important things you can do for your pet is to keep a positive attitude and give off good energy. Enjoy every day that you have together.
