I had always had the opinion that an online video resume is cheesy, ineffective and in all honesty, totally lame. I did however stumble accross one today that has changed my mind. This is a well put together video that goes for about 2 minutes and is well worth a look.

He has an entire website dedicated to his resume/career which is also a great idea but you must make sure it looks professional and has up to date and relevent information.

I think the difference is that he comes accross very professional. His video is well scripted, well rehersed and appears professionally produced. He has done it all himself and the hardware and software used to produce his video is cheap and easy to use so don't feel like producing something like this is out of your reach. I have produced a video of similar quality using the built in camera on my $1500 mac book. I then did post production / editing in iMovie which is software that came pre installed on my macbook. It Took me an afternnon to do and it looks great.

Do you have a video resume? or even an online resume? If so, post it for us all to see and learn from.

Jimmy.
