Video rental on Amazon
42
Amazon has become a virtual Blockbuster offering videos and TV shows online for viewing or downloading in an instant. The site is much what you’d expect from Amazon, diverse, dynamic, and updated often. Have a look for yourself:
Watch online or on your TV, choose from movies to purchase, movies to rent, pre-order movies, TV, latest TV episodes. From our experience, the quality and prices are right on. When we bought a TV it came with a preloaded card that funded our Amazon video account and we’ve been nothing but pleased.
The filters to sort the data on the site are outstanding, finding a good show or movie to watch takes less time than walking around the video store. As an added bonus you can watch the trailer and/or the first few minutes of the flick for free.
There’s a 24 hour rental that we usually go with, but there are options to download or buy videos in case you need to watch Barney 72 times or what have you.
If you’re all about the bargain you can rent out of their ever changing sale section. I’ve watched some movies that Red Box offers for $1.99.
Red Box rocks, for those unfamiliar it’s a vending machine $1/night. But the kicker with Red Box is that if you reserve online they charge you an extra day and if the store’s box is full or the store is closed you pay the extra fee to keep it or drive it to another store. Then there’s the time that we got some scratched disks that didn’t run. We worked it out with customer service to get our dollar back, but it kind of ruined the entertainment for the evening. And more than a handful of times we’ve left Red Box empty handed for lack of a movie that we wanted to see, hasn’t happened on Amazon.
Our experience with Block Buster was similar, we were on their frequent flyer watch all you can watch plan and exhausted the movies in their collection. More than once, they left the security tabs in the DVD covers so when we got home we couldn’t remove the DVDs.
Amazon is no hassles; watch what you want, when you want, where you want.
Two thumbs up Amazon!
