At the end of World War II, Vienna was heavily damaged, but after the signing of the State Treaty in 1955 guaranteeing neutrality for Austria, it again resumed considerable importance as a commercial and transport centre.

Vienna great...hubby and I honeymooned there July 1998. So nice and cool there compared to Palm Springs, Huntsville, or Okla. City (the 3 places I've lived that have brutal summers) it's beautiful, historic, great restaurants, easy to get around in...and everyone speaks English!
