Where to View Michael Jackson Staples Center Memorial Telecast

TV stations and public venues are options for fans unable to win one of the 11,000 Michael Jackson Memorial Lottery Tickets for the Staples Center service on Tuesday, July 7. Several networks and some businesses will air the memorial, which starts at 10am PST live from the stream requested by the Jackson family. A brief list of where to watch:

TV Networks:

CNN will spend a full day covering the Michael Jackson Memorial Service. CNN always does a good and thorough job, and I watch all major news events unfolding on CNN. I advise everyone but the lottery ticket winners and other invited guests of the ceremony to watch on CNN, if they can’t find a public venue to join other fans in.

Other networks airing the event are E!, MNBC, Fox, and ABC. TV Guide will telecast the ceremony for its followers. See TV Guide Twitter or Facebook for more information. Sky and BBC will also telecast. According to the Associate Press, Katie Couric will be at the event, but CBS hasn’t confirmed that it’s airing it live.

ESPN Zone will preempt its normal TV regime to broadcast Michael Jackson’s Memorial Service. If you have an ESPN Zone in your area, double check that they will locally broadcast before going down there. TMZ reports that ESPN hasn’t interrupted its restaurant programming since 911.

The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit, MI. will show the memorial live on a big screen, and seats on a first come, first served basis.

Enoch Pratt Library in Baltimore, MD.

At the Movie Theater. Cinedigm Digital Medai Corp. Will play it 88 cinemas. Check their site for listings and times.

The Carmike Wynnsong Theater, Knoxville, TN. will broadcast via satellite feed.

Graceland West. If you write an essay, you could be one of the 100 invited to view the memorial at Elivis's former Palm Springs home.

If want to see the event at a venue, I suggest doing the following:

· Check local bars or restaurants that you know show TV, like Apple-bees or TGI Fridays. Ask them if they plan to air the coverage.

· Check Michael Jackson fan sites to see if and where they are gathering to view the memorial.

· Check venues like museums, that might have video screens and thus be telecasting.

Gary, IN plans a special memorial service for Michael Jackson at the US Steel Yard. Tickets are free, and they tout that it will be an affair fit for the King of Pop.

The Jackson family will reportedly hold a private funeral service at Forest Lawn cemetery, the final, resting place of other celebrities. The authorities are expecting over a half a million mourners to descend upon the Lost Angeles, even though the Staples Center will be quarantined within a 12-block radius. I strongly advise these fans for find a local restaurant or other venue telecasting, such as ESPN Zone.
