Virgin Credit Card - The Company

Virgin Credit Cards offer its members tremendous flexibility. If you are looking for a credit card with options and multiple benefits, this is the one. The Virgin Credit Cards are distinguished by their no frills cheap alternative to other credit cards. The company was started by Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group. An entire empire has been built around this entrepreneurer's Virgin brand.

For those of you who don't know, Sir Richard Branson is a famous entrepreneur who is best known for starting Virgin Records, Virgin Atlantic, and Virgin Music Megastores as well as many other "Virgin" branded stores.

The Virgin Credit Card was introduced in Australia in May 2003.The credit card was initially introduced to give the Virgin customers deals on their products.

A virgin credit card holder must be an UK resident (and/or have a UK bank account), 18 years or older, and must earn more than $15,000 a year.


Credit Card Benefits

  • Is there an introductory rate? Yes
  • What is it and how long does it last? O% p.a. for three months on card purchases.
  • After that, what will my rate be? 15.9% ( However, you will get 50 days interest free on credit card purchases if you pay your balance in full every month on time!)

  • Is there an application fee?No
  • Are there processing fees?No
  • Is there an annual fee? No, there is no annual fee.
  • Is there a late fee?Yes. 12 pounds

  • Is there an over-the-limit fee? Yes. 12 pounds.

  • Are there any other fees, like account termination fees or balance-transfer fees? O% p.a. for 15 months on balance transfers. (Please note that there is a 2.98% handling fee.)
  • When and how can a variable rate be changed? This is up to the discression MBNA.
  • What is the grace period before interest is applied? 1 calendar month.
  • How will you inform me of any changes in my contract? By post/mail

  • Will the company inform me if I am about to go over my limit? Yes

  • If I go over my limit what happens? There will be a charge of 12 pounds and the promotional rate will be removed from your account.
  • What is the company policy if I have trouble paying my bill? They provide a repayment cover. There will also be a charge of 79p per 100 pounds.
  • May I pay my bill online? Yes
