Enjoy Your Local Farmers' Market Adventure

With the weather being so foggy which is normal this time of year in the San Francisco Bay Area and smokey from all the brush fires I was feeling a little house bound. I decided to get out and chat with people in an open environment that both me and my baby could enjoy. The park was empty, shops were just opening, to early to hike and with the smoke not very appealing.

How about Farmers' Market my husband mentioned and off we went to Berkeley Farmers' Market being Tuesday. Stall Markets are a positive place to get out and chat with adults and learn new tips on food preparation. Most of the stall dwellers are friendly and have amazing ideas. Every Farmer's Market has it's own spirit based on the folks with stalls and those who have come to be entertained and to shop.

Things to do at Farmer's Market

1. Tastings and Demostrations

I love the samples and interaction, try a new flavor or texture. Make the market an adventure!

2. Ask questions

Where the produce comes from? How are their methods different from other stores? How was the traffic driving here? It feels good to have adults tocommunicate with. I love my son but he needs to see me interacting with other adults to soak up and learn social skills.

3. Get Recipes

I ask the vendors how they prepare certain veggies. I love my veggies steamed but you need to add a sauces and herbs to spice things up ! :)

4. People Watch

Will loves to watch other kids playing running ans skat boarding. He s entertained for a few hours at the market.

5. Shop for Dinner and Have Lunch

My favorite, I love to purchase fresh fruits and veggies, creating menus around seasonal goodies.

So nice you could enjoy your time with your baby at farmer's market. Here we don't have farmer's market. =)
