Review of Mirror’s Edge- Visually Stunning Graphics
This game wasn’t nearly as popular as it should have been, but recently playing the PC version, I felt the need to post about my experience with it, and hopefully convince you to have some fun with it yourself.
This game is just beautiful. It has a sort of Asian influence to it, and seems to resemble an exaggerated communist China. The game is based on a girl who is a “runner” and spends her time jumping across roof tops and climbing on buildings. The game is unbelievably realistic, and you feel as though you are actually the one running. When you look down upon the city, it’s hard to believe it’s not real, and you’ll find yourself even getting a little vertigo!
The textures and graphics in this game are unprecedented, and I enjoyed playing every minute of the game just to experience the beautiful, rich colors, and stunningly realistic sounds and effects. The developers did a great job at matching colors and creating a great layout of an urban setting with modern architecture.
The games also flows extremely well, and once you get the hang of it, it’s a great feeling to control the character while wall scaling, jumping, sliding, and sprinting away from police. This has got to be the first game that has successfully created great chase scenes. While the game is quite short, I think it’s worth every penny. If you love playing games to admire graphics and realism, Mirror’s Edge will not disappoint you.
