Why Do We Need To Take Vitamins And Minerals?
It amazes me to see how many people do not take vitamins or see the benefit of it.
There are several reasons why we should take
Vitamins And Minerals.
First We need to know where Vitamins comes from? Vitamins are natural substances found in living things such as plants.
Vitiamins must be obtained in the body from food of supplements as they cannot usually be produced by the body.
Minerals are found in plants. Plants get their minerals from the soil- soil gets minerals from water washing over rocks. For vitamins to do their job, they require minerals. Minerals must also be obtained from food or supplements.
Antioxidants are specific vitamins or minerals that protect body cells from the damaging effects of Free radicals come from or are caused vy smoking, sunlight, stress, exercise, etc., and are one of the primary causes of permature aging, sickness and disease.
How do vitamins/minerals get in the body?
Vitamins and minerals get into your body when you eat plants such as fruits, vegetables, grains nuts and spices or when you take a vitamin/minerals supplement. You can also get some vitamins and minerals into your body by eating meat as most animals eat plant food.
SUPPPLEMENTS are vitamins and minerals that have been extracted from a plant or created in a laboratory and put into a form that can be ingested and used by the body. There are effective supplements, ineffective supplement and hazardous supplements.
Uneducated consumers are at risk from two sides.
1. Consumer knows they should supplement but doesn't know how to select an effective suppplement, therefore wastes their money, time and health.
2. Consumer is uninformed (or given bad advice) on the need to supplement and sarifices thier health.
Where do vitamins/minerals go in the body
Vitamins and minerals go from your stomach to your intestines. They then go through a very complex allocation system whereby the body distributes certain vitamins and minerals to parts of your body based on its own priority systems.
If a nutrients is needed in a certain organ that it( The body) deems more important, it will take the nutrient from a less important, organ, and allocate it to a more important organ. Sort of a "rob Peter to pay Paul"action. That's why it is critical to mainatain proper vitamin&mineral levels. If you need to purchase vitmain why not try centrum. It has all the mineral you need.

- Fish Oil vs Cod Liver Oil
It's a match-up worthy of "Shark Tale" or MOBY DICK: Fish oil goes head to head with cod liver oil. Just be sure that the fracas doesn't get out of hand or you might just hear the "Jaws" theme in the distance. The main difference between cod liver oil and fish oil is vitamin D. Cod liver oil supplements also include vitamin A, just for the halibut, whereas a fish oil supplement mainly contains Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9. Some experts recommend taking cod liver oil with vitamin D only in cooler months, and Omega 3-rich fish oil in warmer months when the sun generates vitamin D in the body. If you live in California all year round, just limit your vitamin D and take Omega 3 with vitamin E to increase fat-soluble antioxidants and make sure the fish oil doesn't spoil in your body. Get the full Omega 3 benefits, but don't neglect the cod liver oil or you could have fighting fish on your hands! For more Vitamin tips, visit http://Vitamin.lifetips.com - 12 hours ago
