Vitamins Nutrition

Vitamins Nutrition plays an important part of our daily lives. Nowadays, health experts are saying that taking extra vitamins as a supplement is necessary. An article in The Harvard Public Health magazine says there is "good evidence that taking a daily multivitamin makes sense for most adults".

This is because the recommended intake of many vitamins, is not achieved. So, taking a multivitamin supplement is a good idea. Remember though, a standard multivitamin supplement will not make up for an unhealthy diet. A daily multivitamin supplement is more likely to provide a sort of nutritional safety net.

Research has now shown that severely restricted diet intake is linked to physical fitness into old age. This means that nutritional supplements would be even more necessary because the body can't take in enough nutrients on a restricted diet.

The Harvard Public Health article says that

"While most people get enough vitamins to avoid the classic deficiency diseases, relatively few get enough of five key vitamins that may be important in preventing several chronic diseases. These include:

  • Folic acid
  • Vitamin B6
  • Vitamin B12
  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin E "
