Romeo and Juliette, Godiva Cheesecake and Champagne, Pastrami and Rye, Summer and Ice Cream, these are things that go well together. So it is with Vodka and Dark Chocolate.

Both Chocolate and Vodka are known aphrodisiacs. Mix the two together and you have a killer cocktail for passion. They can be combined together in foods, in a drink or just straight up ala carte. Grab some candles, put the lights down low, break out some Barry White and let the evening go.

 Yeah yeah, the Video is homemade.  I didn't say it would teach you to make homemade chocolates!   (we will do that later, only we wont use a video)

Just settin the mood....

This is the easy kind.

Ingredients.

1. Bottle maraschino cherries.
2. Vodka
3. Lots of Dark Chocolate.
4. Toothpicks
5. Wax paper

Drain the bottle of cherries. Pour in the vodka. Let sit for at least 24 hours. (don't be so impatient.) 3 days to a week is best.

Wait

Pour the Vodka out of the cherries. (You have just made cherry vodka) Drink this. Pat the cherries dry. Put them back in the bottle and place in the freezer.

Wait. (at least an hour)

Get a good quality Dark Chocolate (milk chocolate works, but hey, go for the best) Reserve jut a bit, and melt the rest in a double boiler. When melted, wait one minute, then add the remaining chunk of chocolate. Fold gently till it is melted.

Lay the cherries out and pat them dry again.

Place a toothpick in a cherry and dip into the chocolate. Using another toothpick, push the cherry off onto waxed paper. (re dip the tip of the toothpic in chocolate and "paint" any hole from the first toothpick.

Let cherries sit for at least 15 min. Place them in the freezer for about 5-10 min. Place your beautiful boozy cherries in an air tight container until you are ready to gift wrap them or consume.

Enjoy.

( if you use real cherries, pit them and let them soak 2-3 weeks )

Home made Chocolodka

You will need: Double boiler (mixing bowl over a pan of simmering water will do) a spatula and a funnel.

Ingredients

To correctly produce this delectable concoction, you’ll need:

Four (4) Cadbury’s Caramel Bars (you can use any brand or type of chocolate or chocolate/carmel bar, but Cadbury makes it so smooth)

A Three-quarters (¾) Full 750 mL Bottle Of Vodka

Step 1- Remove ¼ of the vodka. Preferably one shot at a time.

Step 2.- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler over hot water, gently stir till chocolate mixture is melted.

Step 3- Pour the chocolate into the bottle of vodka. (use the funnel, after drinking ¼ the bottle your hand eye coordination is not up to par)

Step 4- Shake vigorously.

Step 5.- Pour into fancy glass and serve.

alternative-, break chocolate into tiny pieces and put into bottle. Close the bottle. Set in sink under hot running water for about 15 min. Shake till chocolate is dissolved and drink is frothy. Cool before serving. ( or not )

Why not show up with a gift basket? No need to spend Hundreds of dollars. Make your own. You can find baskets at a Thrift store for about $1-$3. While you are there, look for a pair of fancy glasses. Buy a bottle of vodka, some dark chocolates, some massage oil, a nice "one size fits all" lingerie, your favorite "get down to some lovin" CD, a fancy box of some o' them Vodka Chocolate Covered Cherries that you learned how to make from Paper Moon, toss in a fern frond or two for decoration and what ever else you can come up with to make the perfect gift basket.
