WHAT DOES OUR WORLD NEED THE MOST?
86When I turn on the news channel it seems that our world is at the edge of self destruction. Seriously what do you see on the world wide news report daily ?
One war monger over here or another one over there, trying to ram his opinion down everyone elses throat.... Oh! I see you don't agree with me - bang your dead....A plane crash - No survivors...a bomb - Boom...382 dead ... What do you see on the local news channel noon and night??? One lazy good for nothing crook over there or another useless violent felon over here coveting an honest family mans hard-earned cash. Hand it over now...No? - bang he's dead...A self-indulgent driver, while sauced to the gills, killed four...crash... they're dead...Next in the news: The factory that employs the whole town either directly or indirectly is handing out lay-off notices as we speak, they're moving production to a third world country where they can claim a 500% higher profit margin...paying pennies and using Child labor...who will know???...who cares!!! Please shut off the idiot-box I can't take it anymore...
What does our world need the most? Definitely none of this sad despair, none of this wide spread, noxious misery dished out by bullies.
We need to see and hear, really see and hear the gurgling laughter of babies. Experience the light shining in the eyes of parents as they watch their teens graduate. Witness glorious sunrises, the vividly red skies at sun sets. Check out the awakening of nature in the spring. Take in the scents of fresh turned earth. Stop for a moment just to watch the rippling, swaying wheat fields in the gentle summer breeze. Contemplate the enormous harvesters as the gold corn kernels are flowing into the many waiting silos. Nothing can start the day off better than when you observe a puppy tunneling through his first ever snow...(except maybe the fresh coffee perking early in the morning).
The recipe to accomplish all this is as followes:
- 1 cup of TOLERANCE to other peoples differences
- 1 cup of contagious JOY in all there is around us
- 2 cups of WELL BEING that comes from watching the happiness of our neighbors
- 1cup of learning to GIVE and Give some more
- 1 1/2 cups of MORALITY
- 1 ounce of BLISS
- 1 generous pinch of INDULGANCE with other peoples idiosyncrasies
- 1 teaspoon of SELF-PRIDE and CONTENTMENT
Learn from yesteryear's MISTAKES, remove TROUBLE from today's doorstep, and replenish CONFIDENCE in tomorrow.
- 1 enormous cup of each LOVE, HOPE and PATIENCE
- sprinkle to taste with contagious HUMOR, and LAUGHTER
Gently mix with care, heat just enough to make it cozy and consume daily, morning noon and night...
Last but not least, it's encouraged to vaccinate each and everyone off us against lethal attacks of the jealousy disease (remember carriers of this ailment are the dissatisfied)
I honestly think, if we were to learn, to actually comprehend all the nuances of what we really are, we would realize that it all comes down to one thing only, with no variables. This knowledge the world needs to understand can be explained in one sentence...and it's not quantum theory, just this:
No-matter what our colour, if we're cut we all bleed RED............
If we take this to heart everything else will fall into place......

I disagree just kidding. It's not about love, money or peace. Nothing else but the whole world needs oil. That is the biggest problem in the world right now. Also every country on the earth wants a nuclear bomb too. That might bring some peace in the world.
Patikem!
Thanks for your kind words. You understand my way of thinking.
regards Zsuzsy
Mr Nice!!!!
Hashing over your comment has me realize that it's that type of thinking we have to try to change. Tell me what is the price of oil really? I don't mean the price per barrel...What the world needs is not another weapon to blow people up with...Every Mothers nightmare is to see their child go off to some kind of war game some big TO-DO has sanctioned...all in the name of the mighty money sign...I know my idea of what the world needs sounds idealistic but why shouldn't it? Unfortunately Mr.Nice, your way has been tried and is failing...why not give love for the human- race a chance...regards Zsuzsy
I like the recipe for what the world needs :) Even self-pride is beneficial at times!
An excellent recipe, thanks.
Zsuzsy Bee, I 100% agree with you but that will not change what the world wants. I don't want all that I am a peace loving person. What I mean in my comments was that this is what the world wants. I hope the whole world use your recepie but that is just a hope.
Glassvisage! Thanks! A little self-pride is necessary so we can feel good about what we have or are accomplishing.
regards Zsuzsy
Bob!
Thank you! That means a lot coming from you, because you know your recipes.
regards Zsuzsy
Mr.Nice! Unfortunately the proof of what you're is blatantly obvious in every newscast or newspaper. I have to believe there is a better way. Otherwise...????
My Mom used to say to me when I was little: "You can't have everything you want. Good God! What more do you need?" Maybe that is the sentiment we all should try to adopt...
Thanks for your comments regards Zsuzsy
Let's save the world then
Yes, Albert lets get cracking!

I like this hub. You are right, the world could do with more Tolerance, Patience and humor.
Princessa! Glad you came for a visit. I believe we could avoid a lot of pain etc. if we were just willing to live our lives with tolerance, patience and a lot of humor.
regards Zsuzsy
Now THAT is a recipe I'd like to see really take off and become the vogue! Haha. Great hub!
Earl!Always the optimist me...Thanks for taking a peek.

Hi again Zsuzsy,
I agree with you. In the interim, though, you can choose to focus on all the joys that are daily occurrences. The sunrises, sunsets, a child laughing, all those things. Sadly, those things don't make the news, they're taken for granted. By no means am I suggesting we bury our heads in the ground and pretend nothing is wrong, but to dwell on all that is wrong with our country and the world, we are depriving ourselves of our today. We not only rob the joy out of our day to day life, but can infect our family and friends with a gloom and doom outlook. It reminds me of an old email that circulated, when judgement day comes, do you want to say, gee, I wish I spent more time finding joy in my life? Of course, then it's too late. Yes, the world has very serious problems, ones I hope can be resolved peacefully. That is my wish, not a 'pollyanna' thought. Will it happen? Perhaps.
In the meantime, another old expression,,take time to smell the roses. Nobody knows when they will never again have that opportunity.
Great hub, thanks!
Trish! You're absolutely right that is why I restrict myself to watching the headline news only on a day to day basis (unless something mega is happening). I can't stand all that negative stuff.
Same as I read the funnies in my morning newspaper first (just to give me a bunch of happy thoughts padding) before I read the rest...
Thanks for coming by regards Zsuzsy
Hi Zsuzsy,
I listen to the news every morning on my favorite radio station. After the first ten or fifteen minutes, the CD goes on. So I get both, the headlines, then about twenty more minutes to listen to my CD and decompress before arriving at work.
I like your description, happy thoughts padding. Some days we need more than others :)
Your right there that's for sure, have yourself a super duper Sunday Trish

I concur, vehemently! While I may not be regarded as a "serious" hubber, I do have opinions on all of these issues, as does everyone. But I choose to make light, because I don't think there is enough light in the world (there may, or may not be a double entendre in there, somewhere). I love this hub. You have brightened my morning!
B.T. as always I'm delighted whenyou come for a visit. And as far as I'm concerned You're absolutely right about there not being enough 'light' in the worls. That is probably why I love the witty hubs the best... Something funny always gives the whole day a new fresh perspective.
I'm thinking some of these politicians could also get on better with an extended sense of the hahahas.
I'm still voting for you as the presidentregards Zsuzsy
I love this hub Zsuzsy!!! I'm really glad you showed my way here otherwise I would have missed all of this! :) I have placed the quote you sent me and link to this hub in my blog. Please check it out. http://ripplemakers.blogspot.com
Thank you Zsuzsy Bee for lighting my day with the beautiful imagery of life. Hugs!!! :)
Thanks Michelle for you oh so kind comments always.
kindest regards Zsuzsy
Thank you for sharing. I couldn't agree more. I have not watched the news for months. Instead I check the headlines on the Internet from time to time. It is good to be aware without losing hope. If there is something we can do to help out we should. It is time to STOP spreading the negativity. I start a positive rumor and spread it every day. Thank you for promoting HOPE!
OptimistsOnly! thanks for taking a look and for commenting.
regards Zsuzsy
I loved your recipes Zsuzsy Bee!! Ingredients that do not cost a penny and are so vauable in life..
Compu-smart, how are you? Always glad when you pop in for a visit. Did you realize the recipe is also green, no harm comes to the environment...so that covers everything necessary for our day-to-day.
Hope you're well, kindest regards Zsuzsy
I love your recipe. It has been said that single people have accomplished much more with kindness than entire nations have accomplished with war. I think of the selflessness of people like Anthony Robbins and Mother Theresa and what they have accomplished and I wonder when we will ever learn that war is not the answer to anything.
green tea-cher thanks for taking a look and for commenting.

I agree with you 100%. The world needs to accept everyone for who they are. My golden rule in life is "TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED" if more people followed that rule, the world would be a better place. Keep up the great writing, we all enjoy it~
