WHAT DRIVES YOU?

Growing up, as I've mentioned wasn't easy. I'm sure there are many other individuals out there who can relate and can agree that life was tough. You have to do whatever you can to make the best out of a bad situation, learn and grow and reach high for your dreams. When you start at the bottom, you have to work your way to the top, just as Barack Obama did. Look where he came from and where he is now, what an accomplishment he made. I'm not saying let's all become president, but let's reach to our top. I know you all have dreams, we ALL do, but do we all reach out and follow them? Do we do whatever we can to make them come true. Some of us may, alot of us may not. What drives you?
There has always been this inner want in me to do something great, to fall in to a career that I love and make a good living off of it. Not just a good living, I strive to make a living where I don't have to worry another day in the life of Miss G. The thing is though, I can't just "fall into" a career I love. I have to work hard. I have to master the skills and become good at what I love, I have to become the best Miss G, the best me I can be to accomplish what I want in life.
My mom has always been my support money wise until I was 17. Growing up, not having much is what drives me inside. I want to do better for my kids then my mom could have done for me. I want to be able to live comfortably without worrying how the electric bill or the rent will get paid. My mom has also been my mental support. Since that first day the guidance councelor asked me what my plans were for the future, I said college. My mom was so proud of me, she was happy and supportive I would chose college. The only problem was paying it off. Luckily, my local college is one of the cheapest. I would work to save the money to go the next semester. If I didn't have the money the following semester, I would work again for the semester to be able to go again. I had some major set backs with my mom's health, but that didn't stop me. I still have that inner drive to finish school and get a career.
My faith has also led me to believe I was put on this earth for a reason. I will do whatever it takes to please God, and find my inner most strengths and talents to make a difference in the world. I believe I figured it all out and now that I know it's what I'm good at, it drives me further to accomplish my goals.
It's not the fame that drives me, I don't care so much about recognition and the materialistic view of money and material things.
I would however, be lying if I said it's not the money that drives me. BUT, money drives me for the right reasons. I want to be able to sufficiently provide for my family and children, when the time comes, I want to be ready and financially able to support them.
Some friends drive me. The ones who graduated college, the ones who are in college working towards their bachelor's and master's. They make me want to do that to, they inspire me to finish school and keep going strong.
Everyone wants to be successful, everyone wants to be able to say "Look what I did."
What drives me even more, is my own family members. The ones who don't know what it is to work hard for your money. The cocky, mean and spoiled ones who were given what they got.
I can't wait for the day I can not "show off" but show that I earned everything I have, the fact that I worked hard for it all and what a good feeling that will be one day, that is what drives me. The fact that they were given it, I got it all myself. I accomplished it all on my own, with noone's help, is what truly drives me.
What truly drives you?

Great story and I am glad that you are driven! I agree with all that you said and I am sure much success is ahead and you will always be able to succeed in anything you put your mind to. What drive me is the vision of being able to take care of all my love ones and those around me in need. I want to be able to take care of myself and open doors for those who feel there is nothing left to live for. I am a very positive person and I want to help others have the same outlook about life.
