SUMMERTIME COCKTAILS
64Great Summer Drinks
Summer is my favorite time of the year and nothing beats a great steak on the grill and a large glass of something refreshing. We all have our summer favs which I list but there are also a few new ones that my friends and I have come to love. If I've left out some of your favorites, my apologies in advance. I know how you hubbers get when it comes to lists:)
Reverse Martini - 2 tablespoons of gin, 2 tablespoons of dry vermouth, one strip of lemon zest. Pour vermouth and gin over ice, strained into chilled glass, twist the lemon zest and drop into glass.
Electric Lemonade - 1 1/4 oz. Vodka, 1/2 oz. curacao, 2 oz. sweet and sour, 1 splash of 7 Up. Combine all ingredients except 7 up. Shake up and then add soda.

Tom Collins - 2 oz. gin, 1 oz. lemon juice, 1 tsp. superfine sugar, 3 oz. club soda, 1 maraschino cherry, 1 slice orange. In shaker half filled with ice, combine gin, lemon juice and sugar. Shake well, strain into a collins glass half filled with ice. Add club soda. Stir and garnish with cherry and orange slice.

The Tequila Sunrise - 2 oz. tequila, 4 oz. orange juice, 1 oz. grenadine. Build the drink over a highball glass. Tequila first, grenadine then orange juice.

Here are some unique drinks that I have come across over the years and have enjoyed.

Thanks for reading cashmere. Hope you enjoy them. Try the chocolate covered cherry, it's great.
Nice... I especially like the James Bond version of the martini, except I would have to use more than a couple tablespoons :-)
for the shooter beverages, I also like the oatmeal cookie and the scooby snack. yumm!
Tanning Bed Drink:
Equal parts any coconut rum and Pineapple juice. Garnish with a cherry. Great poolside.
likestowrite & beermugworld- thanks for the comments. I'm always open to try new drinks:)

'Absolut' fun! I'll bring my cocktail shaker, just say where and when, lol. Thanks for a great read.
The Caesar
Vodka, Clamato, Worcester Sauce, Tabasco Sauce and a massive piece of celery! Salt the rim as well... mmm
Nice List. I would add Caipirinhas to the list too. These are perfect summer sippin' drinks. I also use Cachaca, instead of rum for Mojitos, but either are great! I'm thirsty now!
Julie McM- thanks very much!
Kiran 8- you are very welcome.
Tony 0724-I think it was this past weekend:)
Redelf- Thank you for reading.
James Wikman-Sounds great! Sounds like a marinade for a great steak lol!
kea-what's the recipe for a Caipirinhas?
An interesting choice for the vodka aficionado, Idol vodka, distilled from the same grapes used in let's say, a Pinot Noir. Quite the deviance from your average wheat, or potato vodka, and makes for very diverse martini's with the use of different wine's, such as an Idol and red/white zinfandel martini. Although rather pricey, top shelf sort, it can be an interesting experience to undertake.
Mosychuk- thanks for stopping by and reading.
I think I blacked out at the club once from oatmeal cookies.
Your my favorite writer!
Tom Collins is my favourite and you're right about slapping a steak on the BBQ in summer, which incidentally is almost here...yaay! Thanks for sharing!
