WHY I HATE PRO TOOLS

PRO TOOLS NEEDS TO GET A GRIP

I have used Pro Tools since I purchased an Audio Media pci card. I am a current user of Pro Tools 7.4 but it does not run on my new i Mac, (i'll get to that issue later) First, let me start by saying that Digidesign does make a great product. In fact, Pro Tools is the MUSIC industry standard.

Not all music production software is created equal. Out the box a Pro Tools Le gives you 32 tracks of Audio. For a HUGE fee you can get yourself upgraded to 48 tracks of audio. Now ask yourself, 48 tracks? I did a session last night that had 28 tracks of vocals and a two mix thats 30 tracks and my music has 17 tracks. What now? I am 2 tracks away from my LIMIT.

Enter Logic, Over 200 tracks NO PROBLEM. Plenty of tracks spare.I could import it to DP5 and finish my record just as fast. One PROBLEM, I can't export it out of Pro Tools as an AAC file or an OMF file unless i buy a plug in. Do you see where I'm going?

Track limitation is not the only flaw. Digidesign forces their customers to constantly upgrade thier hardware with NO support for legacy hardware. legacy hardware? GET A GRIP. Why do I have to buy a plug in to export my music as a MP3?

Logic's virtual instruments murders the so called virtual instruments in Pro Tools, No Contest. The sound library in Pro Tools is a joke. Digi needs to get it together and step into 2000.

Recently I purchased Pro Tools 7.4 and it does not work with my intel i Mac. Another challenge. These are some of the reasons why Pro Tools needs to get a grip.

and I thought that I was the only one not blinded by the fucking profools... I'm about to finish my career in audio engineering and the only place that I use Protools is at school, all my recordings and projects I do it with Cubase SX 3 and it kicks protools ass by far....
