WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER BUY A WEDDING DRESS
59Wise Up Ladies!
A wedding dress is the single most waste of money I can imagine. This is a bad, very bad, investment. Why would anyone spend hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars on a dress that they will wear once for about 5 hours? If you spend $1,500.00 dollars on a wedding dress and wear it for 5 hours that averages out to about $300.00 an hour.
Well, I know every bride-to-be will say "it is absolutely necessary and not a waste". "It's a once in a lifetime event". "I'll save it for my daughter", Blah, Blah, Blah.
The truth of the matter is probably less than 5% of all brides' daughters will end up wearing their mother's gastly wedding dress in 25 years.
The grooms tuxedo is usually free, and is almost never purchased. The groom can rent a tuxedo for about $100.00. Ladies, I say you're getting hoodwinked.
Don't buy a weddig dress, rent one. There are bridal stores where you can rent a wedding dress from around $250 to $500. This price will usally include a veil or tiara. You don't even have to professionally clean the dress, just return it. This will save brides a ton of money and frustation. Most of the rentals are very nice and some are even designer brands. The bridal shop will also alter the dresses to fit the bride for free or for a small fee.
This was the way I went when I married, and spent the extra money on my honeymoon, andĀ if I must say so myself I looked fabulous. For the life of me, I do not know why anyone would spend so much money for something they will wear once and then store in the attic.
If you don't want to rent a wedding gown, then try to find a used one for sale. You will be glad you did. No one has to know your secret.
