I saw the Safety Tubs at the International Kitchen & Bath Industry show in Las Vegas last year. They are truly amazing! The watertight door and the Minute Drain impressed me the most. I saw a demonstration where the Safety Tub actually drained all of the water out of the tub in just one minute. I'm a a builder and I think that Universal Design is the wave of the future. Safety Tubs walk in tubs really caught my attention.

Best product in the industry. I've been to their production facility and seen the quality of workmanship. These guys care about their products and their customers - they aren't some fly by night company just out to make a quick buck.

The Many Benefits of Owning a Walk in Tub?

Most everyone enjoys taking a bath. Soaking in a warm tub helps us to relax and soothes away the troubles and stresses of everyday life. However as we grow older it is not so easy to climb in and out of a bath tub which can make bathing less joyful and more work. Also keep in mind the safety issues involved. Falls often occur due to the slippery surface not to mention having to step over the tub when trying to get in and out of the bath. Many opt for a shower instead, but this means they miss out on the luxury of a bath.

There is now an alternative to a conventional bath tub that is more practical for the elderly and anyone else that has difficulty with mobility. A walk in bathtub is a more practical option. It is easier to get in and out of and help isn’t always required thus many people using them can retain their independence. A walk in bath tub can also be beneficial to the caregiver as it prevents them from straining which happens when lifting a person in and out of a regular bathtub.

A walk in bath tub also provides many more benefits than a standard bathtub. The name walk in tub is due to a door in the side panel that enables you to walk into it and as it is on the same level as the bathroom floor there is no step to negotiate. It is a very simple idea but with fantastic benefits. The walls of walk in bath tubs are typically higher too allowing a more submersive bath and are sealed to prevent water from escaping once the bath has been filled. Once you are in the tub you close the door to fill the bath and sit on the built-in seat.

Walk in tubs come with a range of features. For anyone with difficulty getting around the point of a walk in bath tub is to make movement easier and to prevent accidents. Walk in tubs have slip resistant flooring and safety bars for pulling yourself up and aid balance. There is also a water temperature gauge fitted to prevent scalding. With some tubs it is even possible to have a shower head fitted so you can sit and shower if you don’t want to bathe, and therapeutic jets fitted into the sides of the bath for a gentle body massage that can help those with aching muscles and joints. If you have arthritis, muscle cramps or inflammation problems, varicose veins or suffer from bad circulation, a jet massage can help soothe the pain away.

Walk in bath tubs are not only for the elderly or people with mobility problems, they are useful for everyone in the family. They can also be beneficial if you have young children.

Better quality walk in bath tubs are manufactured from acrylic which is easy to clean and maintain. There are a range of colors, so it is simple to find a design and color to fit in with the rest of your décor. They are also easy to fit as they can be purchased in standard sizes, just remove the old bath tub and have a plumber fit the new one into the existing space.

Walk in baths are designed with people who have mobility problems specifically in mind. That is why you will find the extras such a help. The door latch is simple to use, as is the on/off switches for the taps and shower knob. Everything has been taken into consideration and you will find them a great benefit to any family home.

Taking a bath is a very private act and most of us want to relax in the warm water and be left alone. Walk in bath tubs can restore a persons self confidence and independence as well as offering a safe method of bathing.
