Learn to knit with one of these methods
Are you just dying to learn to knit but you're not sure how to go about it? Do you think it's impossible? Well, it isn’t. If you truly want to knit, for whatever reason -- personal satisfaction, gifts for family and friends, or to be able to knit for charity -- there are several different ways to help you on your quest of learning to knit. Here's a few to get you started.
Learn to Knit -- Look Around a Knitting Blog
There are tons of sites with an amazing amount of fantastic information about learning how to knit (that's a lot of superlatives!) Sites like KnittingforCharity.org and KnittingHelp.com have great how-tos for all experience levels from the beginner to the expert.
Whether you're wanting to learn how to cast on and off or more advanced knitting techniques like circular or double knitting there's bound to be a site that can help you. A quick Google search of "learn how to knit online" will get you approximately 3 Million results.
Learning to Knit with Online Knitting Videos
Isn't the Internet an amazing thing? It's just like going to the library. Whatever you're interested reading about or learning, you can find. Knitting is no exception. Just use your favorite search engine and search "online knitting videos" and you'll be on your way.
There are several sites that have free knitting videos and you can always find free videos that are instructional on YouTube. With just a brief search, I found videos for beginning knitters that taught casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch and many more. Check this out if you learn best by watching and need free help.
Learn to Knit with Knitting Books
Some people learn best by reading. There are hundreds if not thousands of knitting books available to help you learn. These books have great instructions that are complete with pictures.
If you need to save money, take a trip to your local library and check out what they have for free on their shelves. Depending on your library, their books may be a bit outdated as far as patterns and styles, but the basic knitting instructions never change. You can be sure you'll find a knitting book that will fit your needs.
Learning to Knit with Knitting Classes
If videos or books just won't do it for you, try joining a class that teaches knitting in your area. Look online for knitting classes in your area or check with your local yarn store. Most yarn stores or craft stores offer knitting classes to help beginners learn to knit.
Whatever your preference -- free online videos, knitting books, or knitting classes -- one of these methods will work for you. Take time to think about which way you learn the best and choose that method. Your next step is to get started on your adventure and learn to knit.
