While there are problems of rising sea levels, global warming and the melting icebergs on one side, there is a bigger problem of water crisis on the other half- but alas, none of these seem to bother us. According to the UN about 110 million people in the world are facing scarcity of water and its aftermath. It is expected that by the end of 2015, it will get almost doubled. Taking this serious problem into consideration, it has been formally declared that the decade starting from March 22, 2005 to March 22, 2015 will be regarded as "The Water Decade" with the UN's motto "water is life".
According to the statistics produced, India has become highly prone to decrease of per capita water availability by about 30%, which will bring it to the verge of entering the "water-scarcity" zone by 2050.
Pure water, has infact, become something that is uncommon to mankind these days. If this condition prevails, by the next 10 yrs, almost 95% of the population of the world may have to buy water for money. That is, the war of the waters are not too far. So dont waste water.
Water is indeed, precious.
