My Hunter class Guide has been compiled to help you to do well as a Hunter/stalker, with any of the following race characters: Blood Elf, Draenei, Dwarf, Night Elf, Orc, Tauren or Troll.

The most suitable professions to choose for the Hunter role are Skinning and Leatherworking because you can build your own armor. This is critical until you gain a pet as you start the game without protective armor. The next best options are Mining and Skinning. They allow you to make gold from the sale of the metal ores and skins. The ability to heal yourself in the early stages of the game due to the lack of armor and a pet is very important. For this reason herbalism is a smart move, as it allows you to make healing potions.

Until you begin to level up and finish quests you will only be equipped with a rudimentary bow and arrow set. This means that your range combat will not be as distant as you like. As you enhance your skill, experience points and level up the game your choice of weapons will be far better.

The key to advancing quickly with the Hunter class is to make sure your Mana levels are high, use your pet to carry out Melee combat, only carry out ranged warfare, using your auto shot skill for the best results. If you stick to these basics where ever possible you will discover that the Hunter class is probably one of the easiest WoW classes to play with.
