809 Restaurant Sangria Bar and Grill
809 Restaurant Sangria Bar and Grill

Hello and welcome to my neighborhood blog.

I have lived in New York City my entire life in the neigborhood of Washington Heights which starts from about 155 Street to around 215 Street. Although this neighborhood is home to many hispanics, this neighborhood is rich in culture, consisting of many walks of life and beliefs. You can find an array of different cuisines in this neighborhood. Grocery stores, "bodegas", can be found on just about every city block. These grocery stores have accomodating business ours ranging from 7am - 11pm or later. You can often find a smoke shop open 24hrs for those nights when you really need to get out of bed and buy that NyQuil at 2am.

"You can find it in the Heights". This is a fairly good way of saying it. You can find most of anything you need in this neighborhood.

Living in Washington Heights is great and I would like to share some of our restaurants and bars for those that would like to venture into this neigborhood and find a nice place to eat or have a drink.

Below is a bit of information about Washington Heights along with a list of restaurants/bars. I will continue to add more information on my blog/webpage about this wonderful neighborhood. Please feel free to send along requests for reviews on specific restaurants/bars in this area.Comments are encouraged.

I thought this blog was very informative. I also lived in Washington Heights for a long time. Many people have the perception that all Dominicans are stationed in Washington Heights, when in reality it is a diverse community. In addition, many intelligent and educated people comes from Washignton Heights. I love my country and my community. Thank you for this blog...about times someone thought about this.
