I'll admit it. It took me a while to warm up to 30 Rock, the acclaimed hit comedy on NBC.

30 Rock stars Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, and Tracy Morgan. Tina Fey is the head writer of a late night comedy show that resembles Saturday Night Live, Baldwin plays the corporate executive who is her boss, and Morgan plays the insane star actor.

30 Rock is a creative and strange show. But it's the strangeness and total insanity of some of the characters that makes the show so funny.

Tina Fey really blew up in 2008 as a result of her spot-on Sarah Palin impressions on Saturday Night Live. Clips of her "doing" Palin flew around the internet and were viewed a ridiculous amount of times, exposing her to new people who may have never been interested before. Politics works wonders for comedians, and especially SNL.

Fey's new internet fame probably has broadened the viewership of 30 Rock as well, which is a good thing for the show and NBC.

The best episode of 30 Rock (at least in my opinion) is the one featuring the comic talents of Steve Martin, who plays reclusive businessman Gavin Volure. In the episode Volure is interested in Liz Lemon (Tina's character) and starts to court her. He seems to be the perfect man for Liz...until she finds out the sordid truth about him. It's a very funny episode.

If you are looking to own 30 Rock on DVD--and why wouldn't you if you're a fan--you can find the best prices online at eBay (as long as you don't mind pre-owned DVD's, although often they are brand new). Amazon's also a good place.
