NCIS Episode Online.

NCIS is a show that I only started watching recently.  I used to watch Law and Order and CSI quite a bit.  I really enjoyed Law and Order, but for some reason it started to get a little dry--even though Dennis Farina is always fun to watch. 

CSI is a little too heavy on the quick-cut techno-music-filled crime lab montages for my taste.  It's hard to really get into the characters on that show. 

NCIS, which as I mentioned I only recently started watching, pleasantly surprised me.  I thought this was a show aimed at an older, more conservative audience than myself.  But I watched an episode and immediately go into the characters.  The creators, writers, and actors of NCIS do a really good job of making the stories interesting, but also focusing on the quirky characters instead of just focusing on the techniques used to solve a given crime.

The NCIS cast is awesome and the thing I like most about the show is their witty banter and the fact that the team of "Navy Police" really care about each other and always come together to solve the crime.  Recently, part of the squad was in Los Angeles working with a special undercover surveillance unit of NCIS called ICE.  LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell were two of the officers working at the LA office.  It was a two part episode and has led a few people to wonder about a possible spin-off of the show.

The procedural shows are ripe for spin-offs.  Just look at the CSI franchise.  There's like ten of those shows on the air, not to mention Law and Order.  We'll see how this shapes up.

You can watch NCIS episodes online in several places.  I will list them here for you.  It depends on your preference where you watch them.  Some people prefer Sling over Fancast, or Joost over TV.com.  These sites often have the same content, but they have different video players and different "feels."  Check them out and see which ones you like the best.

Primary NCIS Cast

Jethro Gibbs - Mark Harmon. Jethro is the team's lead investigator, runs a tight ship, and operates in mysterious ways.

Cote de Pablo - Ziva David. Ziva is a very intelligent and physical agent who struggles somewhat with the idioms of the English language and has ties to the Israeli Mossad police force.

Michael Weatherly - Anthony (Tony) Dinozzo. Tony often serves up the comic relief, but is a capable if arrogant agent who can get the job done. His feelings for Ziva have started to bubble to the surface and have played a role in recent episodes.

Sean Murray - Timothy McGee. McGee is the tech wiz who can break into and analyze computer systems to find important clues to help solve NCIS cases.

Pauley Perrete - Abby Scuito. Abby (who may be the most popular NCIS cast member) has a penchant for goth-style clothing and is the lab technician who helps NCIS analyze crime scene evidence. She loves her NCIS team like a family and seeks Gibbs' praise.

David McCallum - Ducky Mallard. Ducky is a brilliant Scottish-born medical examiner with the ability to read people and understand their actions very well.

Rocky Carroll - Leon Vance. Leon is the director of NCIS. He and Gibbs clash consistently but work together well when it's in the team's mutual interest. This character is very important to the NCIS cast as he creates a lot of extra tension in the story lines between himself and Gibbs. He is just mysterious enough to be interesting and you never know what he is really up to.

If you caught the two episode arc of NCIS that took place in Los Angeles, then you may remember seeing Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J in roles as two members of NCIS ICE, a special surveillance unit of the investigative body.

As a few people hinted, there may be an as-yet-untitled NCIS  spinoff in the works starring LL.  It may even be a part of the CBS 2009 Fall lineup if everything goes according to plan.  This is great news for NCIS fans the world over.  It's funny, it seems like more and more people are turning into fans.

The NCIS cast is a big reason for this--the cast is great.  Part of the reason CBS is planning this spin-off is to strengthen the lineup against American Idol on the other large network.  NCIS has proven to be a very strong franchise.  We'll see if it isn't stretched thin by this new show, NCIS: LA.  I don't think it will.  The work that L.L. Cool J and Chris O'donnell did on the two episode arc last season was pretty entertaining.
