Watch Your Mouth

Your thoughts and words decide your future. Whether it be out in the wilderness or on a path of righteousness. It is important to keep a restraint on your mouth. Don’t let negative words leave your lips. They are curses to your walk. Thinking negative most people know affects your entire body. If you are constantly thinking negative thoughts eventually your body will react by becoming sick. You will be hit with depressions. But speaking from your lips is more powerful then your thoughts. Speaking out loud is unleashing power from your spirit. God says blessed or cursed are your lips.

            If you want true victory over your life you are going to have to get control of your thoughts and words. They will determine your outcome in situations. If you are talking bad about other people you are also cursing them. If you talk negative about your situation and murmur and gripe you are speaking defeat over yourself. I am talking from experience. I know what it is like to constantly think in the negative. I was trapped in this negative mindset. It consumed my life I could never expect good things because I felt nothing good would ever happened to me. It took a long time for me to realize that my negative thoughts and words were causing negative reactions in my life. I didn’t realize this was my choice. I never knew there was so much power in words.          

            At first I just tried not to talk negatively but that didn’t seem to work my thoughts were still negative. You have to reach deep down and fix the root of the problem. When you start hoping and waiting for positive things to happen it is life changing. You can’t fix this problem on your own. Only God’s grace can get you to stop. He will show you step by step how to overcome your mind and words. Don’t let your negativity stifle your walk. There might be a great harvest waiting for you but because you are speaking negative over your situation God doesn’t give it to you. It takes a lot of patience but eventually when you turn your words around you turn your life around.   

Job 27:4

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Read James 3:1-11

“Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.

 When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and saltwater flow from the same spring?”

I can not stress how important it is to tame your tongue it is the root of many problems. I have been there and it is a difficult thing to do. It is very much rewarding though if you stick to it. Life can be full of blessings and joy. You can have a walk of victory, and exercise a choice that was given to you to live a blessed and positive life. Your words can bring healing to someone or they can bring curses to them. If only people would understand this I think a lot of problems in their life would be uprooted and re planted as victory.

            Take a stand with me and take back what Satan has stolen from you. He will plant negative thoughts in your mind. The thing you need to realize is it is your choice whether you take them or not. You can choose to cast out your bad thoughts and they never really become your own. This is another trap that Satan uses on us, he makes you think that it is your thought. He bombards you with feelings of depression and tries to speak lies over you. When you have a dream he will tell you its not really going to happen. He will tell you God isn’t real. He will speak all sorts of evil over you. Don’t fall into this trap. Take a stand and say NO I cast you out in Christ Jesus’ name! Eventually if you do this enough he will leave you alone at least for a little bit. But you can’t blame everything on Satan , sometimes it is all our doing. If we choose to live in the negative it will surely affect your life. God wants us to prosper he wants us to be blessings to others and to live victorious fruitful lives. Don’t be fooled you were given much power God’s anointing is over you! He has given you everything you need to overcome this problem. Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit anymore decide today that you are going to consciously think good thoughts.

Lord I lift up my thoughts and words to you. Please convict me when I begin to think negative over my situation and self. Help me to turn my negative thoughts into positive ones. Please guard my tongue you are the only one who is powerful enough to do it. Thank you for blessing me in Jesus name AMEN.
