Hard Water and Water Softeners

Hard water can cause several problems - health problems, plumbing problems, bathing and washing problem and more.

Water softeners, often misspelled as water softner, can solve hard water problems.

The principle behind a water softener is quite simple. The calcium and magnesium ions in the water are replaced with sodium ions. Sodium has the property of not to prec­ipitate in pipes. Sodium also does not react with soap. This helps to eliminate hard water problem.
