What's the best beverage for all the seasons?

Forget your favorite drinks, it's nothing but Good Old Ice Cold Water! Water has the power to revitalise, detoxify and oxygenate the skin.

It's always a good idea to carry a bottle of water when you're out on the road, even if you feel it adds a bit to the weight of your bag. "Water", You need to get enough, rather than staying with the saying that you need to gulp down eight glasses of the liquid a day as a mere guideline, the recent studies had found out that it's nothing but another nutrition.

So don't put your water bottle or glass down just yet, though we may not need eight glasses, there are plenty of reasons to drink water. Recent researchers now tout water as a nutrient your body needs that is present in liquids, plain water, and foods, all of them combined together are essentials to replace the large amount of water lost each day.

Starting with the skin, " the right amount of water is necessary for the skin's elasticity and suppleness. Even without sweating the body is losing water through the skin and this needs to be replaced. Otherwise skin cells become dry, crack, peel and change colour. Water has the power to hydrate, revitalise, detoxify and oxygenate the skin. Increased warm water intake regulates the excess oil present in an ' acne-prone' skin. Constipation due to low water intake as we all know leads to raised toxin levels and therefore a dull skin that easily breaks out into pimples".

Water helps your body's fluid balance:

The school level biology that you learned will tell you that your body is composed of about 60 percent water. The functions of these bodily fluids include digestion, absorption, circulation, creation of saliva, transportation of nutrients, and maintenance of body temperature.

Get yourself Hydrated:

Have a glass of water with every snack and meal. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Their high water content will add to your hydration. Keep a bottle of water with you in your car, at your desk or in your bag.

Water helps to keep calories in check:

Water has no calorific value. It is the best liquid to rehydrate yourself. When you drink your favourite drinks, you actually feel thirsty later as it contains sugar which your body will need to dilute. For years, dieters have been drinking lots of water as a weight loss strategy while water doesn't have any magical effect on weight loss, substituting it for higher calorie drinks certainly helps.

Helps in keeping your kidney's cool:

A very recent study stated that the instance of gall bladder problems and kidney stones increases during the summer when the body secretes more moisture. " If there isn't enough water to help your kidneys do their job, you have an acidic environment that builds up internally, think of water as lubricant for your body. Cold water is even better as it absorbs internal heat. Body fluids transport waste products in and out of cells. The main toxin in the body is blood urea nitrogen, a water-soluble waste that is able to pass through the kidneys to be excreted in the urine".
