Food has become insanely expensive due inflation and the high mark up on these items by the corporate entities who try to reap profits from the consumer. Many of the products sold in grocery stores are marked up almost 200 percent! That is pure greed on the part of the stores.

These grocery stores are now in the business of robbing the consumer, and there is no better way to save money than to beat these stores at their own game. Next time you go grocery shopping, fill your basket with everything you need and just walk out of the store. Many times, if you go to the store during peak business hours, the stores will be crowded and under-staffed.

If you notice, many times while you wait in line, the store is in a state of confusion, and there are never enough clerks to handle the capacity of shoppers. Usually no one will even notice if you can leave the store without paying for your groceries. If an employee confronts you, just make a simple excuse and offer to pay for the food.

Not only will you save money, you will be able to spend your grocery money on other important needs such as electricity or insurance.

Other creative ways to save money include growing your own food or using your bicycle for transportation.

Grow A Garden.  Growing your own food is an ideal way to save money because it can drastically reduce the amount of food you will need to buy. Although it will not create instant savings, begin to plant seeds in pots around your home. If you let nature take its course, the vegetables you have chosen to grow will sprout within a few weeks. To make it worth you time, you must continue to plant new seeds each week so that as time progresses, the yields will compound. If you continue the process, each week you should have more fresh vegetables, giving you less of a need to buy them from the stores who are only interested in taking your money.

Get Some Exercise.  Taking your bike to work can drastically cut down on your gasoline spending. Gasoline has become absurdly expensive because our government allows large financial institutions to speculate on the price of oil by creating fake demand. The price gouging of gasoline is one main reason the U.S. economy has spiraled into a recession because the majority of middle America cannot afford the rising gasoline prices. By pedaling your bike to work, you will save money on car maintenance and gasoline.

Another way to save money is to conserve electricity, or stop using it altogether.

While many Americans are addicted to using electricity, energy conversation can drastically reduce the amount of money you owe the utility company each month. This idea is self-explanatory: turn off lights, seal windows, and stop using so much hot water.

Also, unplug your major appliances such as your refrigerator, microwave, oven, and dishwasher whenever you do not need to use them.   There is no reason why an average person needs to leave these appliances plugged in twenty-four hours a day.

The appliances are designed to continuously use electricity, but by unplugging them for hours at a time, you will cut down on the amount of energy your home uses.
