When we think of covert hypnosis, we of course think of ways to hypnotise someone discreetly, outside of their conscious awareness.

The way we do this is by establishing rapport with a person, and developing a really deep conversation that the person becomes so asborbed in, they almost lose all sense of their surroundings. This creates the perfect environment to use covert hypnosis. One of the best ways to immerse a person in a conversation is through the use of a story of some form. By telling a story that really absorbs a person and makes them a feel a part of it, you will gain a person's interest and of course establish rapport whilst doing so.  The trick when telling stories is to tell your story in such a way that makes the other person feel as if they can relate to you. For instance, if you were telling a story of a time that you were trying to stick to an exercise regime, but just couldn't because of all the temptations of alcohol, smoking and other such things, then the person may feel an understanding for you. They themselves may once have tried to get very fit however failed due similar reasons.  If you can portray yourself in a way that makes another person feel as if they have something in common with you, then this person will feel a deep subconscious connection with you, and will be willing to do almost anything you say, provided that you word your suggestion in the correct manner.  A common question people ask when trying to learn how to use covert hypnosis is just how they should work their suggestions. Does the person realise your suggestion, or do you word it in such a way that they don't realise it consciously, only subconsciously?  The answer is, you want to word all your suggestions subconsciously. For example, let's say you wanted a girl to go to dinner with you. You would bring up the conversation of food, of dinner, and then anchor a positive emotional state to the word 'dinner'. You'd then say a sentence such as 'I haven't had any dinner to eat tonight' and then trigger the positive emotional state. If done correctly, the person should feel a genuine want, even a need, to go to dinner with you.  This is how covert hypnosis works, it works by making indirect statements, but working behind the scenes so as to make those statements enticing to the person, so that they'd be more willing to act upon them.  So if you want to know how to use covert hypnosis, find a course, or a book of some form, and study and practice the techniques it teaches until you develop a natural knack for conversation. You may even improvise some of your own unique techniques.
