When your company or group provides you with an id badge for identification, they often provide you with a standard badge clip that clips on your your clothing. This allows you to wear your badge as you particpate in the activities required by the group or organization.

There are a number of reasons for id badges. That isn't really what this article is about. We do need to mention one. The basic id badge is used to identify people. Often this includes displaying your id badge while attending to the duties you have while at the company or organization. Often, to help with the wearing of the badge, the group who provides the badge will also give you a standard badge clips for you to hook your badge on to what you are wearing.

The clip is boring and often does not meet the specific needs of the wearer. There are many other options that will hold you badge and allow you to display it and use it in ways required by your organization. Lanyards - Lanyards are becoming more popular and more diverse than ever before. Standard lanyards are nylon and have an end that allows the id card to hang on the attachment. It is worn like a necklace.

To keep injury from occuring with lanyards, many of them purchased today have a breakaway attachment to them. This allows the wearer to feel safe. The lanyard can be tugged on (an example may be a machine that pulls the lanyard into it) and will release because the breakaway attachment will pull apart. This saves on potential injury issues. The lanyard can be reattached at the breakaway point for wearing again.

Fashion often dictates what is worn. Our newest available lanyard group is the beaded lanyard. Instead of wearing a standard color lanyard, these are as beautiful as many fashionable necklaces. The beaded lanyards are equiped with a id attachment hook at the end that allows the badge to be worn.

Credential File Holders - These file holders are great for those who must display their id badge and also have a number of things that they need to carry with them, such as pens, change, notes, etc. There are seperate compartments in the holder that will provide ample room for small items that are used throughout the workday. Those who wear these are often teachers or lifeguard staff.

Caribiner Holders - Caribiner holders are good for hooking on a belt loop or carrying bag. The holder will hold the card secure, but is easy to remove if needed.

Magnetic Badge Holders - Magnetic badge holders allow the badge to ride on a shirt pocket or over a belt. The holder has a magnet on both sides of an overlaping plastic piece on the back of the holder. The magnet keeps the badge secure and visible

Armband Holders - These holders are worn on the arm which keeps them secure and out of the way. The id can be clearly seen on the arm which allows workers to be carrying heavy items and still display there badge for visual identification requirements.

Heavy Duty Badge Reels - The attachment of choice for many who use their id badges as access into secure areas of the organization, such as buildings and network access. The card can be tugged from the holder and will be released on a cord to extend to the reader. When releasing the card after use, the cord retracts into the holder providing secure wearing until the next use.

Rigid Badge Holder - Popular with schools, this badge holder is designed to give extra strength to badges that are constantly worn. The holder allows a badge to be snapped into place and can be attached to clothing with a standard badge clip or worn with a lanyard. The card and holder are much thicker and the card is less likely to get damaged by rough use.
