Hey Research, Could you start from the very basic basic concept and tell me a complete novice exactly what you are talking about in simple language? LOL. I am certain this is a great tool that I would benefit from understanding... but I am so not there as yet, I am even embarassed to write this comment!!! The dumb question is the one you don't ask, right? In plain language, I have no idea what you are talking about and what its applications are for writers like me.

I get the concept of Scribd but I don't understand quite how it will heop you promote your whatever.

Storytellersrus, - Its understandable, this is new to me too, basically this document sharing site is similar to YouTube, on youtube individuals setup an account create videos and add their website link for viewers to go for further information.

As a writer Scribd allows writers to upload tutorials, "How To" articles, etc. so when a person is searching for a particular topic such as "how to build a pc" they will come across your pdf or word doc or ipaper. Here is a good example: http://www.scribd.com/doc/1434530/Build-Your-Own-P

hot dorkage - Scribd lists the key words searched for to get to your doc, you also get to add tags to your doc. I see it as a paperless medium writers can use to reach a larger audience.

I hope this helps, I see scribd as another plateform for writers and anyone with a blog, or website who wants to reach a large number of people.

Thanks for a great hub! I already knew about Scribd, but had not really looked at it. I followed your link out to the Build Your Own PC posting on Scribd and got lost in the article for a lot longer than I had intended. LOL

I'll probably use Scribd for some of my work.

Thanks again

You can share and display any document (more than 200 document types) in your own blog or on any website where you can add html code. Simply copy paste the embed code from Docuter (www.docuter.com) into your blog or web page and give a unique viewing experience to your users.

Docuter (www.docuter.com)gets indexed by all major search engines so you can even drive traffic back your blogs and pages.

Sharing Documents has never been so easy. With Docuter now you can upload documents and send a link to the document to anyone. You also send Advanced Link where you can disable the printing on that document for that person. So that user can only view the document and not print it.
