SEO And Web Accessibility!

The world's largest search engine "Google" has a strong dedication to making the web more accessible to people with disabilities. Last year, Google launched Google Accessible Search. It is the first web search engine of its kind to group search results based on their accessibility.

That means your site's accessibility will have a direct relation to how well it is ranked.

Web Accessibility Issues

What is Web Accessibility?

Web accessibility issues refer to the practice of making websites usable by people of all abilities and disabilities. When websites are correctly designed, developed and edited, all users can have equal access to information and functionality.

Example, people who are blind use a special piece of software called a screen reader to access the web. If images and other elements on the page are not properly coded, a person who is then blind cannot use the site.

This then becomes a missed opportunity for revenue to a website owner. These web accessibility issues are only one example with one disability. There are numerous other issues to consider.

Why is this important?

This is extremely important because if your website is not designed to be accessible it can directly affect your bottom line! Also If people cannot interact with your website, they cannot purchase your products or services. That means you lose money.

Got A Website?

Do you have a website with web accessibility issues? Do you even know if your website is 100% accessible? Every website should be 100% accessible and have every page using (SEO) search engine optimization if they want to be on the top pages of the major search engines.

SEO is what gets you found by more people that just a few friends that see your website after taking home your business card. Usually that card gets thrown in the garbage or in some pile with 50 others.

So many people are not using the yellow pages anymore are they? No they are going to Google, Yahoo, Bing, Etc.. for everything from local to global information. If your website is at the top of the 1st page with no web accessibility issues and full of good professionally mastered SEO, then they will click on your link at a much higher percent than those much lower down the page!
