Web Traffic and Tips to Get Repeat Visitors to Your Site

Everyone who creates a website wants to get web traffic to their site. It doesn’t matter if the site is a hobby site, professional blog site, news site, or a one page sales letter people want traffic to their sites. Rarely is it like the “Field of Dreams”, often “if you build it”, they will not come. They don’t come because they don’t know that your site exists. The purpose of this article is to give you several tips to not only get traffic to your site, but to have visitors comeback again and again.
Tip #1 - Create Unique Content Frequently
Search engines love unique content. The only thing that they like more than unique content is unique content that is updated frequently. Sites that are not updated for long periods of time may find that they get dropped from the search engines eventually. Try to at least update your website once per week with fresh content.Tip #2 - Offer More ValueIf you want repeat visitors you will need to offer value. You can provide value by giving your affiliate and JV partners links to their sites on your site. You can ask that these partners return the favor. You can also provide information about products and sites related to the industry or niche that your site targets.Tip #3 - Give Discounts and FreebiesProvide your customers and readers with special discounts for your products. Use discounts to reward your frequent site visitors. This will keep visitors checking back to see if they can catch your latest deal. Another way to do this is to provide a free report or e-course when they sign up for your newsletter.Tip #4 - Book Mark Script
Provide a script on your homepage that will allow users to bookmark your site or add it to their favorites. You will also want to create an RSS Feed for your site as well. RSS feeds will automatically update when new content is available on your site and alert readers to visit and read the new content.Tip #5 - Tell-A-Friend Another good way to increase traffic is to provide a “Tell-a-Friend” script to your site. Tell-a-Friend scripts provide a form that allows visitors to send a link from your site to several of their friends. Word of mouth traffic and sales are still the best zero cost way to get visitors in any industry.Tip #6 - BrandingApple, Inc. and McDonald’s are brands that are recognizable around the world. They built their brands by using consistent colors, logos, and slogans. You can build your brand by doing the same things on your website. Provide your customers with a consistent look and feel so that your website and products will be instantly identifiable. This will build familiarity over time with your readers and customers.Tip #7 - Contact Us
Create a “Contact Us” page for your website and make sure that a link to this page is available on a global menu so that readers always have access to it.Tip #8 - FAQ PageYou should create an FAQ page that addresses common issues and concerns that your readers and customers have. Readers will find it convenient to visit your website and find the answers to their questions. This can be beneficial in resolving issues quickly and will help to reduce your customer service costs.Tip #9 - Proper NavigationEnsure that you have consistent and visible navigation elements on each and every web page. Also be sure to have the appropriate titles and keywords on each page so that your readers are able to navigate your website successfully. You may consider navigation elements like bread crumbs that will allow your readers to see exactly where they are on your website at all times.Tip #10 - Newsletter links
In each newsletter that you create provide links back to your website. You can link to related articles, products, faqs, and sales pages on your site. This will drive repeat traffic to your site.
I’ve provided ten unique tips that will allow you to drive repeat traffic to your website. Repeat traffic is essential because you want to hold on to unique visitors for as long as possible. It is easier to get customers to come back after their initial visit than it is to get a customer who has never heard of you to visit for the first time. Repeat customers are more likely to buy from you than someone who has only visited once. So ensure that your site is set up to provide unique and valuable content for your visitors.

Your simple language can give first-time site optimizers some confidence in their traffic-drawing project. If only Internet marketing enthusiasts (I am one) preferred the layman's approach and dispensed with technical terms altogether.
I particularly took note of your tip #9: proper navigation, concerning the right titles and keywords so visitors know where they are, where they want to go, and if they'd like to stay or see more. Too often many landing pages bombard visitors with a single endlessly scrolling down page, with no way to find a summary, or a list of benefits. I make it a point to cover this point when someone asks me about optimising his site.
