W3 HTML/CSS Courses – They’re Free!

With today’s ever changing technology, it is often difficult to stay current with technololgy, computers, the web, Internet, etc. It can be time consuming, and financially straining to get the information you need to move forward in the business world and personal world of computers today. Terms like 'html', 'xhtml', and 'css' can be confusing to most people. This is where W3 tutorials can help.

Most businesses today need to be on the web and usually need their own website to compete and keep up. Small businesses are the backbone of America and even more so in other countries. You often wonder how small business today survive and compete against big corporations. It seems like every one of us want the small businesses but unfortunately don’t have the resources to support them. Whether we like it or not, big businesses like Walmart, means getting things at an affordable price. That is what the masses need to survive. The majority of people have to work at a wage where they are living from pay cheque to pay cheque. Many people complain about this, but for companies to compete in this global economy, they can’t afford to pay out big wages.

One way for the small guy to compete is with the use of the Internet. The small business person can’t always afford to pay to have a website built let alone maintain it. I have learned that you can get information on the web fairly inexpensively and with not a lot of technical knowledge (just a little know-how and research). However, once you really get going with it and build an audience or client base, you may find you need to know more.

One inexpensive and professional way to get the information that you need on building and maintaining your own website is to take a free and very informative website course. There are a number of free website courses out there, but W3 tutorial website courses have been used by Universities and other schools as part of their curriculum for a number of years. The information they provide is up-to-date and laid out in an easy to follow course outline. I felt like I hit gold when I found this site. As any one may know, who has had to pay huge fees to take technical or professional courses, to come upon courses of this calibre, and not have to pay a cent, is simply amazing and extremely helpful. You can do them at your own pace and if you need it, there is also a way to get a certificate to prove you have completed these courses. And there is absolutely no fee required. This is often needed in professional organizations like accounting, law, and engineering designations. These professional designations often require you to continually gain up-to-date technical knowledge. They are often commitments to a lifetime learning process. You may want to check and see if these W3 courses qualify as professional development in their systems.

But, as discussed earlier in this article, the small business entrepreneur may very well be interested in these free courses as a way to built and maintain a professional website and give himself or herself an edge to this every competing world we live in.

Also, for that stay-at-home Mom who may be looking for an affordable way to learn more or try to run an Internet or other business from home, these courses may more than help them achieve these goals.

A more educated society is a healthier society. My hats are off to the people who created this site to enable the rest of us to get excellent, affordable knowledge when we have no other means of attaining the same results. Thank you W3 courses! Their website is www.w3schools.com.

You may also find other free courses at about.com. Good luck!
